In this tutorial, I will show you how to create a Beautiful Nightfall by using photoshop.

This is the final image that we are going to create:

I’ll explain all the steps very easily. So, be ready with your Photoshop and let’s get started.

I’ll be using Photoshop CS5 for this tutorial, but any version of Photoshop should work. OK, First open a new blank white document. To open a new window in photoshop just go to your file menu and click new or simply press your keyboard shortcut ctrl+N.

Now we are ready to begin our work.

First create a new layer above the current background layer bye pressing your keyboard shortcut ctrl+alt+shift+N or just click the little icon from the layer palate.

Now select the polygonal lasso tool and create a shape of a tree just like this.

Now make sure your Foreground color is Black if not press D in your keyboard.

Now fill that tree shape into black. To do this you have to go to the edit menu and and select fill then fill with black or you can just press your keyboard shortcut alt+backspace.

Now create a new layer at the top of the layer 1 and select the brush tool by pressing b and select the brush shape as shown in the image.

Now make some leaves by dragging your brush  (don’t make too much leaves otherwise it wont look good).

Now make new layer at the top and select another brush shape (grass) as shown here.

Now drag your brush and make some grass. you can make your brush bigger or smaller by pressing the left/right bracket keys [ / ].

Now make a new layer at the top and select your gradient tool or press your gradient shortcut G.

Now drag the top layer (Layer 4) and place it just under Layer 1.

Now double click your foreground color to change it and change the color as shown in this image.

Click OK to select your color and select your gradient tool. Now apply your gradient to do that you just select your gradient tool hold down your shift key and drag your gradient from the top to bottom. Make sure you selected the current layer (Layer 4) in this tutorial.

Now you’ll see this result.

Now select the Layer 3 and create a new layer at the top.

Now in the new layer select you brush tool and select the shape as shown here and also make sure your foreground color is white if not then simply press X to switch color.

Now Still your mouse and hand and at the top right corner of our image simply click once if your brush looks smaller make it bigger by pressing [ or ]

Cool. Now we can see our Moon. Click on the ‘fx‘ icon at the bottom of the layer palate and select ‘Outer Glow‘.

Now you can see the Outer Glow Windows. Change the color.

Select white and click OK.

Now drag our Moon layer (layer 5) under the layer 2 and move the Moon a little left or as your wish. You can move anywhere you want.

Now make your foreground color black and select the Custom shape tool.

Now select this bird shape as shown here.

Now make 3 birds inside the Moon by dragging the shape tool. Cool isn’t it.

Now select the layer 3 and create a new layer at the very top.

Now in the new layer make your foreground color white, select your brush tool, make your brush way smaller by keep pressing left bracket key [ .

Now still your mouse and hand and click once here and there to make some star.

Almost done. Now select the Moon layer (Layer 5) right click on it and click “Copy Layer Style”

Now back to our Star layer (Layer 6) right click on it and select paste layer style.

And there we have it !!
